After 30 years of building, remodeling, and serving the Indianapolis community, BAF Corporation will officially close its doors in September 2026. This isn’t an easy announcement to make—but it is one filled with profound gratitude. To every client, partner, and fellow Hoosier who trusted us with their vision: thank you. This farewell belongs to you as much as it does to us.

Our Legacy in Indianapolis
BAF Corporation was born in 1997 from a simple but powerful conviction—that integrity and quality should never be negotiable on a construction site. Founder and President Barbara Fleming stepped away from a successful corporate career to build something of her own. “The turning point,” she has said, “was when I realized I could start my own company.”
What followed was three decades of steady, purposeful growth. From a first-year revenue of $75,000 to surpassing the $5 million mark, BAF Corporation grew into a recognized cornerstone of Indianapolis commercial construction and remodeling. That growth was never accidental. It was earned—project by project, handshake by handshake—alongside the businesses and communities we were proud to serve.
Along the way, BAF Corporation earned recognition that reflects that commitment. Being named Best of 2022 Indianapolis General Contractor was a meaningful milestone. So was our certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) with the City of Indianapolis and the State of Indiana, and our recognition as a Certified Office of Minority & Women Business Development. These distinctions mattered not as badges, but as a reflection of the values we carried into every project.
Impact and Achievements
In 2018, Barbara Fleming was honored in the Indianapolis Business Journal‘s Women of Influence segment—a recognition of what she had built and the standard she had set. But the truest measure of BAF Corporation’s impact isn’t found in awards. It’s found in the spaces we helped bring to life.
From healthcare facilities like Community North Hospital and Northpoint Pediatrics, to corporate offices, retail spaces, and nonprofit headquarters, BAF Corporation has shaped the commercial landscape of Central Indiana. We remodeled occupied obstetrics floors for Community Health Network. We served as owner’s representative for Girls Inc. as they acquired and renovated a new headquarters. We helped transform a donated building for the Dove Recovery House—a rehabilitation program for women recovering from addiction.
These weren’t just construction projects. They were spaces where people healed, worked, learned, and grew. That distinction guided every decision we made.

What Made Us Proud
Thirty years is a long time—and looking back, what stands out most isn’t any single project or award. It’s the relationships.
The clients who came back to us again and again. The subcontractors who knew our standards and rose to meet them. The team members who showed up every morning committed to doing the work right. These are the people who made BAF Corporation what it became.
We are equally proud of our community involvement. Through Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis, Design for a Difference, Outside the Box, and the Village of Merici, BAF Corporation extended its commitment to Indianapolis far beyond the construction site. Barb Fleming served as board chairwoman for multiple organizations, because she understood that building a city means more than building its structures.

Final Thanks
To our clients: you gave us your trust, your timelines, and your visions. We never took that lightly. Every project was an opportunity to prove that a construction company could be a true partner—honest, organized, and fully invested in your success.
To the Indianapolis business community: you welcomed us, challenged us, and helped us grow for 30 years. This city has given us everything, and we hope our work has given something meaningful in return.
To our talented team: none of this was possible without you. Your craftsmanship, dedication, and professionalism are what made BAF Corporation worth trusting.
The Foundation We Leave Behind
September 2026 marks the close of a chapter—but not the end of a story. The buildings stand. The relationships endure. The standard we held ourselves to will continue to influence the work of those who carry Indianapolis forward.
BAF Corporation was built on the belief that construction done with integrity creates something lasting—not just in concrete and steel, but in the communities those structures serve. We are proud of what we built, and deeply grateful for everyone who built it alongside us.
From Conception to Creation, and now to a fond farewell—thank you, Indianapolis. It has been an honor.
