The mission of BAF Corporation is to concentrate on delivering a quality product as quickly as possible and provide the ultimate in service to the client, keeping the disruptive process of construction to a minimum. Attention to detail as well as providing an unsurpassed quality of work, schedule and budget is our strong suit. Our teams have an unwavering commitment to earning the complete satisfaction of everyone we serve. Overall, we believe that communication is the primary key to all successful projects. As a certified WBE (Women Business Enterprise) with the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana, we fully understand and support the importance of accountability, owner needs and expectations, budget adherence, and scheduling, for every building project, regardless of size or complexity. This professional resolve, combined with our extensive skill and proven track management record, sets us apart from our competitors. Here at BAF Corporation, we have a simple philosophy. We have chosen to approach construction holistically, acting as part of the team including the architect, designer, owner, and tenant to make sure we are all working in the same direction to fulfill both owner and tenants needs.

At BAF Corporation, our team leaders set the industry standard for excellence; not just in the field of commercial construction, but also within our surrounding communities. We take great pride in participating in local community initiatives and benevolent efforts to improve the well-being of our city and preserve our greatest assets. Some ways we continue to be a part of the mission to support important programs and charities within our city is our involvement with Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis and Design for a Difference.

BAF Corporation has been active members of Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis for several years. In fact, Barb Fleming was previously the President of the Board. Impact 100 is a charitable women’s philanthropical committee devoted to granting high impact donations and contributions to nonprofit organizations and initiatives within our community, with a special focus on education, family, arts, environment and animal welfare, culture and preservation, and health and wellness. We also correspond with similar organizations, including the Village of Merici which is a Fort Ben neighborhood for adults with developmental disabilities, as well as the Dove Recovery House, which is a rehabilitation program for women recovering from addiction. Previously, Barb served as the owner’s representative for Girls Inc. as it procured and remodeled a new headquarters. Currently, Barb Fleming is a board member of Outside the Box, which is an Indianapolis-based organization that works with young adults with developmental disabilities. BAF Corporation was founded in 1997 on the firm principles of quality and integrity, and with the mission to provide top-quality general contracting and comprehensive design/build services to corporate and institutional clients, as well as developers, here in Central Indiana. All aspects of our company, from the people we hire to our systems and procedures, have been carefully selected and developed to meet the specific needs of these types of clients.

Since we’ve opened our doors, BAF Corporation has earned a solid reputation by turning out a superior product that is completed on time and within budget. In fact, since our inception, we’ve experienced unprecedented success, growing from just one employee to now three team leaders, including revenuers starting at $75 thousand to over $5 million!

In 2018, founder and President, Barb Fleming, was featured in Indianapolis Business Journal in the 2018 Women of Influence segment. The article covers her achievements as a successful, self-made woman in business, and describes how she founded a commercial construction company that has shown exponential growth since it’s inception. Barb Fleming is the founder and President of BAF Corporation. She graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors in Math, and then completed some graduate work at the University of Notre Dame. Early on, she spent three years teaching math at Lawrence Central High School. Later, she began working for Luminate selling and creating lighting design. Eventually, she became Vice President of Luminate providing lighting fixtures for the Hoosier Dome, AUL Tower, and more. She also served time as Vice President of BRSI, which was later renamed Oracle Consulting. At this moment in her life, she came to a life-changing realization, stating in her own words, “The turning point was when I realized I could start my own company.” So, in 1997, she founded BAF Corporation.

Barb is a devoted mother to adult children, Aaron, Laura, and Kimberlee. Although born in St. Louis, Barb has become a loyal and fervent Hoosier who takes great pride in supporting the local communities and charitable endeavors. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, bird watching, motorcycle rides, driving sports cars, reading, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

She is also very active in community involvement. Currently, she is a board member of Outside the Box, which is an organization that works with young adults with developmental disabilities.
